After customizing the data dictionary and filling in configuration settings, it's time to test the customized version of Stonefield Query. The easiest way to do this is to click the Launch Stonefield Query button in the toolbar (). This launches Stonefield Query for the currently open project.

The first time you launch Stonefield Query for a particular project, the Setup dialog appears, asking you to specify where Stonefield Query stores its data files (the tables containing the reports the user creates and security for the application). You can select the same directory as the project files are in or a different directory if you wish. You are also asked if you want to register this copy of Stonefield Query if you have not done so already. You can either select No to run in unactivated mode or you can select Yes and go through the steps in the Registration dialog.

You can now test your custom project by ensuring the proper application name appears in various dialogs, the proper captions appear for tables and fields, and that you can create reports that provide the correct results. If you find things that must be changed, exit from Stonefield Query, make the appropriate changes in Stonefield Query Studio, and launch Stonefield Query again.
