You can run Stonefield Query from the Windows Command Prompt, the Windows Run dialog, a batch file, or another application so you don't have to find its icon on the Windows Desktop or in the Start menu and so you can have it automatically log in or run a particular report. There are two ways you can do this: using a command-line interface or using the SQProxy object.
The command-line interface is easier to use but performance suffers if you run one report after another because Stonefield Query starts and shuts down after each report. The SQProxy object keeps Stonefield Query in memory (albeit not visible to the user) so reports run extremely quickly. However, it requires some programming on your part to use the SQProxy object.
