The Default Table for New Reports property specifies which table is initially selected in the Data Selection step of the Report Wizard when the user creates a new report. If this setting is "" (the default value), the first table in alphabetical order (by caption, not real name) is selected. To change this setting, select the desired table from the drop-down list.
